Singing bowls have been used in religious and shamanic practices for well over 1500 years and associated with Tibetan Budism since the 8th Century.
A singing bowl is played by resting the bowl on the flat of the hand (sometimes a small cushion) and rotating the stick around the outside rim of the bowl.
This will produce a vibration which creates a hum, which is the essence of the bowl.
It is used to invoke a deep relaxation, assisting meditation and onto enlightenment. They are used to purify negative energies and assist in relieving stress.
Singing bowls may also be struck gently, normally with a padded mallet to invoke a beutiful sound that will keep on resonating......
